Understanding the mechanisms of structure-activity relationships

NMR,X線,電子顕微鏡,質量分析計などの物理化学的測定機器を活用し,生体高分子やその複合体(蛋白質や核酸,阻害活性化合物)を直接目で視たり,結合状態を観測することにより,生物現象の原子分解能での理解や酵素化学の反応機構解明,さらには,機能改変蛋白質の創製を目指す.

The techniques of structural biology, such as NMR, X-ray, and electron microscopy, can visualize the 3D conformations of the protein, you are interested in, at the atomic resolution. LC-MS is also a powerful instrument for not only proteomics but also structure determination.
Our purpose is that understand the interactions between biomolecules as well as the catalytic mechanisms, combined with these techniques.
