【MEXT Scholarship Program (Embassy Recommendation)】Apply for “Letter of Provisional Acceptance”
Candidates who wish to enter Kitasato University as a MEXT student should apply for the “Letter of Provisional Acceptance” from our university after passing the First Screening by Japanese diplomatic mission in your country.
To apply for the “Letter of Provisional Acceptance”, please send us following documents by email.
１．Application form for 'Letter of Provisional Acceptance' on MEXT Scholarship Program (Downloadable from here(12KB))
２．Copy of a Passing Certificate of the First Screening issued by the Japanese diplomatic mission
３．A set of copies of the following documents submitted to the Japanese diplomatic mission that has been stamped by the mission.
- Application Form *attached with photo
- Field of Study and Research Plan
- Academic transcript for all academic year of university attended
- Graduation certificate or degree certificate of the university attended
- Recommendation letter from the president/dean or the academic adviser at the current or last university attended
- Abstracts of theses (*Only if submitted to the Japanese deplomatic mission)
- Certificate of Japanese/English language proficiency (*Only if submitted to the Japanese deplomatic mission)
- Recommendation letter from the present employer (*Only if submitted to the Japanese deplomatic mission)
To apply for the “Letter of Provisional Acceptance”, please send us following documents by email.

<Important Notes>
■Documents submitted to the Japanese diplomatic missions must be stamped, and all lettering and photographs are clear and legible.
■All documents should be sent by e-mail; however, if it is difficult for you to access the internet, we will accept the documents by postal mail.
■We do not accept your application after the deadline, September 13th, 2019 in Japan time.
(As for Chinese students selected through Chinese Embassy Recommendation (中国赴日本国留学生), the deadline is August 23rd, 2019 in Japan time.)
■Please be aware that Kitasato University will be closed from August 10th to August 18th for a summer recess, therefore we cannot process the documents and queries during that period of time.
■Please be advised that the process of your document evaluation at our university will take certain period of time.
■All documents should be sent by e-mail; however, if it is difficult for you to access the internet, we will accept the documents by postal mail.
