【MEXT Scholarship for 2023 (Embassy Recommendation)】Application for “Letter of Provisional Acceptance”
Candidates who wish to enter Kitasato University as a MEXT scholarship student should apply for the 'Letter of Provisional Acceptance' after passing the first screening conducted by the Japanese diplomatic mission.
To apply for the 'Letter of Provisional Acceptance', please send us the following documents by email.
１．Application form for 'Letter of Provisional Acceptance' on MEXT Scholarship Program (Downloadable from here(13KB))
２．Copy of a passing certificate of the first screening issued by the Japanese diplomatic mission
３．A set of copies of the following documents that had been submitted to the Japanese diplomatic mission and stamped by the diplomatic mission.
- Application Form *attached with photo
- Field of Study and Research Plan
- Academic transcript for all academic years of university attended
- Certificate of graduation or degree certificate of the university attended
- Recommendation letter from the president/dean or the academic adviser at the current or last university attended
- Abstracts of theses (*Only if submitted to the Japanese diplomatic mission)
- Certificate of language proficiency (*Only if submitted to the Japanese diplomatic mission)
- Recommendation letter from the present employer (*Only if submitted to the Japanese diplomatic mission)
To apply for the 'Letter of Provisional Acceptance', please send us the following documents by email.

<Important Notes>
■Each document must have the confirmation stamp of the Japanese diplomatic mission, and all lettering and photographs are clear and legible.
■Please send All documents by email; however, if it is difficult for you to access the internet, we will accept those by postal mail.
When you send the documents via postal mail, we will not return your documents.
■We do not accept your application after the deadline, August 26th, 2022 in Japan time.
As for Chinese students selected through the Chinese Embassy Recommendation (中国赴日本国留学生), the deadline is October 14th, 2022 (JST).
As for Ukrainian students who have passed the screening conducted by the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine, the deadline is October 3rd, 2022(JST).
■Please be aware that Kitasato University will be closed from August 13th to August 21st for a summer recess, therefore we cannot process the documents and queries during that period.
■The final deadline for the result announcement to the candidates is September 28th (JST). Please be aware that it may take a month or more for the graduate school concerned to evaluate the submitted documents and make a decision about the application. It is therefore advisable to apply for this process in plenty of time.
