The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) has issued an announcement on animal and plant quarantine in anticipation of the expected increase of international travel during a long holiday season.
The Plant Protection Station and the Animal Quarantine Service are strengthening publicity regarding the prohibition of the entry of plants and meat products into Japan, disinfection of shoe soles, and inspection of portable items and international mail, as well as conducting educational activities such as campaigns in various regions.
