As the public becomes increasingly concerned about medical safety, pharmacists are expected to contribute to safe and secure drug treatment.
Our department conducts research on the science of medical safety based on medical accidents, incidents, and adverse events related to drug treatment and pharmaceutical collaboration, leading to safety management in clinical practice.

Director of the Pharmaceutical Department at Kitasato University Kitasato Institute Hospital
This newly established laboratory was created in 2020 in response to the growing social concern for medical safety.
Based at Kitasato University Hospital on the Sagamihara Campus, the laboratory conducts education, research, and practice of safety management in all aspects of healthcare, including not only inpatient and outpatient care at the university hospital but also community and home healthcare, in collaboration with the field.
