私たちは、くらしに役立つ材料に使われる有機分子の特徴的な構造を研究し、新たな「 機能」を示す新規分子をつくり出す研究を行っています。例えば、光や熱などの刺激で色が可逆的に変わったり、新しい磁性や導電性などを示す有機- 無機のハイブリッド分子など。X線結晶構造解析、その他各種の分析により、新しい分子の探求と未知なる物性の解明や機能性物質の開発に取り組んでいます。
