百聞は一見にしかずということわざにあるように、私達の研究分野である構造生物学はNMR、X線や電子顕微鏡を使って生体高分子や生体超分子複合体がどのように構成されているか原子分解能で見て、その機能を理解することができます。さらに、タンパク質の機能解明という基礎科学だけではなく、視覚という情報を最大限に活用して天然タンパク質が持つ機能を超越した人工タンパク質の設計など、医薬やエネルギー、分子機械など社会の発展にも繋がる研究をみなさんと一緒に進めて行ければと思っています。

Research Interests: Biophysics, Structure Biology, Protein Science, Protein engineering
I believe structure biology is a powerful tool for understanding the protein function through visualizing at atomic resolution. Using these techniques, I’d like to find and discuss together new insights into biological phenomena at the molecular/atomic level!
