研究の概要

薬剤耐性 (Antimicrobial Resistance : AMR) を獲得した病原微生物の増加は、世界的な問題となっており、サイレント?パンデミックと称されるその脅威は拡大の一途をたどっています。我々は、薬剤耐性菌の感染制御に向けて、薬剤耐性機構の解析や分子疫学解析、新規抗菌薬の創薬研究、抗菌薬併用療法に関する基盤研究、感染症の迅速診断方法の開発などの研究を行っています。メチシリン耐性黄色ブドウ球菌 (MRSA) は、院内および市中感染においても分離頻度の高い多剤耐性菌です。我々は、β-ラクタム薬によりバンコマイシン耐性が誘導されるMRSAであるBIVRについて、その耐性機序を解明すべく、耐性誘導物質の単離?構造決定や細胞壁合成経路の解析を進めています。また、消化管感染症を引き起こす嫌気性芽胞形成菌であるClostridioides difficileに対して、抗菌活性や毒素産生阻害、芽胞形成阻害などの作用を有した天然化合物の探索や作用機構解析を行い、創薬シード化合物の発見を目指して研究を行っています。さらに、モノクローナル抗体を用いたイムノクロマト法による迅速診断方法を開発し、体外診断用医薬品として臨床応用した実績もあり、企業との共同研究を展開しています。
